    • About Nursery at SWS

      Students must be 3 years of age by December 1, 2026, and fully toilet-trained.

      3-Day program runs M-W-F only.
      5-Day program runs M-F.

      Drop-off time - 8:00am (If you have an older sibling who is dropped off at the Washington Ave. entrance, they may enter the building with the older sibling.  This is only applicable if they have an older sibling in grades K-8.) 

      Early Childhood students wear school uniforms that are available for purchase at Flynn O'Hara Uniforms.

      Typical Schedule: 
      • Prayer throughout the day 
      • Morning routine (circle time that includes song and dance)
      • Academic instruction in Religion, Math, and ELA 
      • Guided play
      • Free play
      • Outdoor play
      • Specials include Music
      • Nap time each afternoon
    • About Pre-K at SWS


      Students must be 4 years old by December 1, 2026, and fully toilet-trained.

      3-day program runs M-W-F only, full-day.
      5-day program runs M-F, full day.

      We host various celebrations throughout the year such as a Thanksgiving Feast, Breakfast with Santa, and Mother’s Day Tea. Handwriting instruction and Fundations instruction (phonics/pre-reading) provided.

    • What's Special about St. William the Abbot School?

       
      • Facilities: An extensive outdoor playground and large gymnasium for physical education as well as outdoor physical education classes (weather permitting).
      • Convenience: Each classroom in the building has its own entrance/exit door that leads outside, so drop off and pick up are both handled privately between the teacher and parent right in the child’s classroom.
      • Setup: Each Early Childhood classroom also has its own bathroom and sink, therefore, children do not have to leave the classroom for bathroom use.
      • Location: The school is conveniently located on Jackson Avenue in Seaford, just south of Sunrise Highway and Rte. 135.
  • Frequently Asked Questions about Nursery and Pre-K

    • Do you offer full-day Nursery and Pre-K?
      • Yes, our Early Childhood Program offers 3 or 5 full day program for Nursery and PK.   St. William’s also offers a 3 or 5 half day Nursery option.
    • How much does N-K cost?
      • Please contact St. William the Abbot for our very competitive tuition rates.

    • Do you offer monthly payment plans?
      • Yes, tuition paid over 10 months from August to May via the FACTS Tuition Management System. For questions on FACTS accounts, please contact Mrs. Kasey Grasso at [email protected].  
    • Do you offer discounts or parishioners at neighboring parishes?
      • We have a contributing discounted tuition rate for parishioners of St. William the Abbot Parish only. Financial assistance is available through Tomorrow’s Hope if a family qualifies.
    • Do you have special financial needs? Would you like to meet with our pastor?
      • Our Pastor, Fr. Joseph Fitzgerald, is a regular presence in our school and is available to meet by appointment.
    • What food and snacks do you offer? How do you accommodate food allergies?
      • Hot Lunch is offered 5 days per week and can be ordered online through YAY.com, or lunch can be brought in from home. Children have snack time every day. Private consultation between parents, the school nurse, and school principal is required to meet the needs of students with food allergies.
    • Do you have an on-site school nurse?
      • Yes, provided by the Seaford School District. Our nurse is in our school full-time. In addition, SWS also has two School Psychologists on staff to assist with social-emotional learning and needs.
    • What interaction does the early childhood program have with Elementary Students?
      • Interaction with elementary students occurs at school assemblies and school Masses. After school care students are placed in age appropriate groups.
    • Who leads your childcare program? How do you select teachers? What is their training?
      • Teachers are NYS certified. The Extended Care Program is a collaborative effort between administration, faculty, and staff. Our Director of Extebded Care, Mrs. Joyce Schuler, can be contactd at [email protected]. She is happy to assist!
